Public Safety and Infection Control: a 4-hour online continuing education course for nail technicians, cosmetologists and other salon professionals. Learn how to protect yourself, your coworkers and your clients, at your own pace, on your phone or computer.

Approved by the South Carolina Board of Cosmetology for the 2026-2027 licensing cycle.

What you'll learn

• Module 1: Introduction and Instructions. How the course works, and entering your license details.
• Module 2: COVID-19. Understand the facts: how it spreads, symptoms, and prevention in the salon.
• Module 3: What About You. Hazardous materials, how to read Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and safe work practices.
• Module 4: Infection Control. Germs, infectious vs. contagious, and how to control infection with proper cleaning and disinfection.

13 lessons in all, with quizzes, videos and real-world examples.

How it works

3. Work through the lessons at your own pace. Your progress saves as you go, so you can stop and pick up later on any device.
4. When you finish, download your Certificate of Completion. Sweet Feet reports your completion to the University of South Carolina, which issues your official CE certificate.

• Your cosmetology license number
• A government-issued photo ID and your LLR license to upload, as the SC Board of Cosmetology requires for online courses
